Terms & Conditions

Please take the time to read these terms before placing an order. They explain the handmade nature of Petal & Peace Resin, how your precious inclusions and flowers are handled, and what you can expect throughout the process.

1. Handmade & Bespoke Items

Every Petal & Peace Resin piece is handmade individually and created around the memories and inclusions provided by each customer. No two pieces will ever be exactly the same.

Natural inclusions, mica powders, resin, flowers and other materials can vary in colour, texture, size, shape and appearance. The amount and natural colour of ashes, the colour and condition of flowers or other inclusions, how materials settle within the resin and the combination of materials can all affect the finished piece.

These natural variations are an inherent part of handmade work and are not considered faults.

2. Resin, Bubbles & Natural Variation

Every care is taken to create a clear, high-quality finish and to reduce bubbles as much as reasonably possible. However, small bubbles can sometimes occur naturally during the resin-making process and cannot always be completely eliminated.

Small bubbles, slight variations in colour, inclusion placement, transparency, texture or finish are part of the handmade process and do not constitute a defect.

3. Precious Inclusions

Customers may choose to include meaningful items such as ashes, breast milk, hair, fur, flowers, petals, fabric, sand and other sentimental materials, subject to discussion and suitability.

Only a very small amount is normally required. As a guide, just over a tablespoon of ashes or similar material is more than enough for most pieces. Only the amount needed will be used and any remaining inclusion will be carefully returned where applicable.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the correct inclusion is supplied. Please contact Petal & Peace Resin before sending anything you are unsure about.

4. Sending Inclusions

Customers may use their preferred delivery service when sending inclusions. The cost and risk of sending inclusions to Petal & Peace Resin remains with the customer.

Tracked delivery and careful, secure packaging are strongly recommended, particularly where the item being sent is irreplaceable or of significant sentimental value.

Petal & Peace Resin cannot be held responsible for inclusions that are lost or damaged while being sent to the business by the customer or their chosen delivery service.

5. Floral Preservation

Getting flowers to me

For the best chance of successful drying and preservation, wedding or funeral flowers should ideally reach Petal & Peace Resin within 2–3 days of the event. The sooner flowers are received, the better the chance of preserving them in good condition.

If flowers are received later than this, they may still be suitable, but drying can become more difficult depending on their condition. This will be discussed with the customer before proceeding where appropriate.

Assessment of flowers

Flowers will be assessed on arrival. Natural flowers can arrive with bruising, moisture, mould, rot, fungal growth, wilting or other deterioration. Where mould or significant deterioration is present, Petal & Peace Resin will discuss the condition with the customer before deciding whether drying or preservation can reasonably proceed.

The customer may choose to have flowers dried without committing to having them preserved in resin. The decision to proceed with preservation remains with the customer after the flowers have been assessed and/or dried.

Drying and preparation

Drying is a natural preservation process and can change the appearance of flowers. Flowers may fade, darken, shrink, curl, become more brittle or lose petals during drying. These changes cannot always be predicted or prevented.

Once drying or preparation has begun, a £40 non-refundable drying/preparation fee applies. If the customer decides not to proceed with resin preservation after the drying/preparation stage has begun, the remaining balance will be refunded, subject to any other agreed costs, and the dried flowers can be returned where requested.

What resin can do

Resin encases the dried flowers within a protective, durable layer and helps protect them from handling, moisture and everyday environmental exposure. It can enhance the appearance of flowers by creating a clear, glossy finish and can sometimes give petals a slightly deeper, darker or more translucent appearance, often creating a beautiful “wet look”. Resin may also highlight natural veins, textures, cracks and colour variations within the flowers.

Resin cannot stop the natural ageing of flowers completely. Preserved flowers may continue to change slightly in colour or appearance over time, particularly if exposed to prolonged direct sunlight, heat or unsuitable conditions.

Colour correction

Where appropriate, colour correction or enhancement may be discussed. This may incur an additional charge, which will be agreed with the customer before the work is carried out.

Please see the Care Guide for everyday care recommendations for floral resin pieces.

6. Custom Colours, Glitter & Foil

Customers can request a resin colour and may provide a photograph, reference or physical colour sample. Every effort will be made to achieve a close match, but an exact match cannot be guaranteed due to differences in resin, mica powders, lighting, materials and screens.

Glitter and silver or gold foil can be added where selected and are subject to the applicable additional charge shown at the time of ordering.

8. Jewellery Metals & Bracelets

Rings and pendants are made using 925 sterling silver unless an alternative metal has been specifically agreed.

Gold options are available. Solid gold options are considerably more expensive and the exact price will depend on the current market price of gold at the time of ordering. Gold-plated options may also be available, subject to design.

8. Jewellery & Resin Care

Customers should remove jewellery before washing hands, showering or bathing, swimming, exercising where appropriate, or applying perfume, lotions, creams and beauty products.

Resin should be cleaned gently with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth. Do not use chemicals, cleaning sprays, abrasive products or harsh cleaning agents on the resin.

Keep pieces away from excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight and store them somewhere safe and dry when not being worn.

Further care guidance is available on the Care Guide page.

9. Turnaround Times

Standard orders aim to be completed within approximately 2–3 weeks, depending on when inclusions are received, the type of piece ordered and the complexity of the design.

Floral preservation takes considerably longer because flowers must be dried and prepared before they can be incorporated. Floral preservation generally takes approximately 8–12 weeks.

These are estimated timescales rather than guaranteed deadlines. Customers will be kept informed if an order is expected to take longer than anticipated.

10. Order Confirmation & Custom Designs

Customers can begin by completing an enquiry or contacting Petal & Peace Resin. Designs, inclusions, colours, options and pricing will be discussed before the order is confirmed.

Custom designs are welcome and may be created around the customer's story and preferences. Because each piece is handmade, the finished result may not be an exact replica of a photograph, example or reference design.

Customers are responsible for checking agreed design details before work begins and should raise any concerns promptly.

11. Payments, Cancellations & Refunds

Payment and any deposit or balance arrangements will be confirmed with the customer before work begins.

Because keepsakes are personalised and bespoke, cancellations after work has started may be subject to costs for materials, preparation and work already undertaken. Any refund will be assessed in accordance with the stage of the order and applicable UK consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions removes or limits any statutory rights the customer has under applicable law.

12. Finished Pieces & Delivery

Finished pieces and any remaining inclusions will normally be returned using Royal Mail Tracked and Recorded delivery.

Once a finished order has been handed to the delivery service, Petal & Peace Resin cannot be responsible for loss or damage caused during transit, although reasonable assistance will be provided where possible.

Customers should inspect their parcel and finished piece promptly after delivery and contact Petal & Peace Resin as soon as possible if there is a concern.

13. Jewellery Guarantee

Petal & Peace Resin provides a 1-year guarantee on jewellery only, subject to the nature of the issue and reasonable care having been taken of the item.

The guarantee does not cover damage caused by accidents, misuse, impact, scratching, exposure to chemicals, excessive heat, water damage, normal wear and tear, tarnishing or deterioration of silver plating.

14. Local Drop-Off & Collection

Customers local to Kent / Isle of Sheppey may be able to arrange an in-person drop-off of inclusions or flowers and collection of a finished piece.

This must be arranged in advance so that a suitable time can be agreed.

15. Treating Your Memories With Care

Petal & Peace Resin understands that the items entrusted to the business can be irreplaceable and deeply personal. Every reasonable care will be taken when handling inclusions and creating each keepsake.

However, natural materials can behave unpredictably, particularly during drying, preservation and resin work. By commissioning a piece, the customer acknowledges the inherent risks associated with working with natural and sentimental materials and understands that some changes may be unavoidable.

16. Agreement to These Terms

By placing an order with Petal & Peace Resin, the customer confirms that they have read and understood these Terms & Conditions and the information provided about the relevant product and care requirements.

Petal & Peace Resin reserves the right to update these Terms & Conditions when necessary. The terms applicable to an order will be those agreed at the time the order is placed, subject to any legal requirements.

17. Questions & Contact
